Just as essential and vital as putting weather strip on a window is putting one to a door as this will help in lessening the loss of energy and minimizing drafts.  There are several areas where the cooled air or heated air in a room can escape thru even when you keep the door closed and these are the crack under the door’s bottom edge, between the door and its jambs and top.  Having a gap of ¼ inches underneath a typical door is comparable to having a hole in your door 3 inches wide.  Closing up these gaps will give be very beneficial as you would be able to save in energy used and you will have more comfort.

Information, guidelines and DIY instructions can be seen in this section about purchasing, installing and taking care of materials for weather-stripping for doors.  For more information, check Window Weather-stripping.
